In biographical/administrative notes, it is stated that the genesis of the village of S. Miguel de Machede, begins in the Herdade de Machede, which was left to the Chaptered by D. Constança Martins, in 1300.

For decades, its territory belonged to the area of Nossa Senhora de Machede, the Parish being institutionalized in the 19th century. XVI.
